A norovirus outbreak has resulted in about 15 reported illnesses and the temporary, voluntary closure of a popular café. The Minnesota Department of Health is investigating Hogan Brothers Acoustic Café after a call from a college reporting the illnesses. Most of the 15 who are ill are students at Carleton College. According to a report in the Northfield News, the DOH went into the restaurant and advised it to do a "deep cleaning" of the restaurant, screen any ill employees and discard any food that could potentially be contaminated. Common symptoms of norovirus infection include vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramping.

A sign posted on the door of Hogan's apologizes for the closure and says they will re-open on Monday, May 2.
