The Third District American Legion Baseball Tournament continues today in Cannon Falls without a single League G team in the winners bracket.  Kenyon and Zumbrota-Mazeppa were ousted Friday.  Kenyon losing to Sibley East and Montgomery in extra innings and Zumbrota-Mazeppa falling to Leseuer-Henderson and Watertown.  Saturday Pine Island fell to Plato in their first game and then defeated Jordan to eliminate them from the tourney.  Cannon Falls won via forfeit with Lester Prarie not showing up for their game and then lost in 8 innings to Belle Plaine.  Randolph was beaten by Belle Plaine 6-0 and was scheduled to play the loser of the Cannon Falls vs. Lester Prairie game, but because Lester Prarie forfeited then Randolph automatically advanced in the loser's bracket.  Today's games at John Burch Park include 12:30pm elimination bracket game between Pine Island and Leseuer-Henderson, 3:00pm winner's bracket Giant Valley (Minnehaha Academy) vs. Sibley East and 5:30pm Plato vs. Belle Plaine and at Frank Hawks Field at Cannon Falls High School at Noon Norwood faces Watertown, 2:30pm Montgomery plays Cannon Falls and at 5:00pm it's Randolph and Holy Family.  I'll be on the P.A. at Frank Hawks and we had great fun yesterday with our fifth inning stretch request for fans to lead us on the PA in a rendition of Take Me Out To The Ballgame.  That's what a baseball tournament should be, FUN!  A big thank you goes out to Gavin Roosen, Jake Whipple, Jared Clawiter and all the Kenyon Legion boys for their assistance with running the scoreboard and official book.  I just sat back and announced!
