This is the 88th National FFA Convention being held in Louisville. Kentucky. More than 64,000 FFA members and guests are at the convention. This is one of the largest conventions held in the United States. There are more blue jackets then you can envision. Of course the blue jacket is part of the official dress of the FFA. In addition to the members and guests, an army of volunteers is swarming to help with the convention, handling everything from parking to judging contests to helping with the career fair to food service -- it takes a lot of help to put on a convention of this size.

This is a picture of the opening session. Sessions are held throughout the convention. There are motivational speakers in addition to award presentations and special recognition of friends of the FFA. It is hard to describe the excitement you feel when you get to a convention like this. This is my 20th National FFA Convention as a farm broadcaster, and every one is special.

Be sure to listen to KDHL AM 920 and KRFO AM 1390 for regular reports from the convention!
