Naomi Mortenson and Veronica Bruckoff, two of the four Museum Moms, will be on AM Minnesota on Tuesday. Mortenson and Bruckoff, along with Ann Johnson and Ann Wilis, will be running the Mankato Marathon to raise money for the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota in Mankato. Yes, they are going to run a half or full marathon! Their original goal was $4,000. That was quickly achieved and now their goal is $10,000. The marathon is coming up in October and they are still about $2,000 away from their goal.

I first got to know Mortenson and Bruckoff when they were on staff for the Minnesota Soybean Growers. They are great advocates for agriculture. When I found out what the Children's Museum in Southern Minnesota was all about I understood why they were supporters. The museum has areas that teach children and their parents about where food comes from.

In its first year the museum had more than 100,000 visitors. As is true with many museums, general admission and memberships do not cover operating costs. So you have people like the Museum Moms running in the Mankato Marathon to raise money for the museum. I hope you can listen Tuesday morning at 9:30. Plus, if you would like to make a donation go to Museum Moms Champion Runners on Facebook.
