UPDATE: Mathew Keely Hartley, 33, of Farmington has been charged in the hit and run death of 24-year-old Mollie Mahowald on Sunday morning on Main Street in Elko-New Market. According to KSTP, her friends described her as courageous and outgoing and willing to help out anyone.

Hartley was charged with three counts of criminal vehicular homicide, including operating a vehicle with negligence and under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene after causing a collision.

According to a witness report, Hartley and another motorcycle were reported traveling at a high rate of speed down main street. One motorcycle ran into Mahowald, sending her 20-30 feet into the air. The motorcycles then left the scene, despite witnesses yelling at them to stop.

Mahowald was a member of the military and touched many lives not only home, but also in the places she went while serving her country.

Hartley reportedly has a revoked driver’s license, was convicted of a DWI in July, and has another DWI charge pending. The Elko-New Market Police Department and Scott County Sheriff's Department are continuing the investigation of the incident.
