I spend a lot of time at the Rice County Fair in Faribault, but most of that time is spent there in the afternoon and evening. I thought I'd drop by and wander the grounds in the morning and take some pictures of the fair before all the people arrived. There's a quiet beauty to the midway as it anxiously awaits the arrival of the throngs of fairgoers eager to board the thrill rides that will scare, excite and make them laugh with joy.

Of course there's activity in the barns as different judging events are being held there. Plus, the many vendors and concession stands at the Rice County Fair are busy cleaning and restocking their booths for another busy day of sales.

If you get the chance, stop down and stroll through the grounds before things really start cranking up for the day. You'll get a whole different perspective of the Rice County Fair.
