Strong thunderstorms are moving through the area this afternoon and more rain is in the forecast. So a flash flood watch continues for most of the area until 1AM Thursday morning.

More than 1-2 inches of rain has been reported already and the weather service says the area could see anywhere from another 2 inches to as much as 6 inches by Thursday.

In Minnesota, the flood watch area includes Blue Earth, Dakota, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Le Sueur, Martin, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Steele, Waseca, Washington and Watonwan counties.

Thursday most of the area is supposed to be sunny and dry and another chance of rain returns Friday, then sunny and cooler for the rest of the weekend.
