Raised in Minnesota? You officially have bragging rights! Residents of this great state have long suspected, but now there is confirmation. Minnesota is the best place to grow up! The land of 10,000 lakes has a lot to offer young families.

In a recently released report by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, which tracks health, economic stability and education among the nation's youth, Minnesota came in at top of the class. The 26th annual Kids Count report listed Minnesota as the first state for the second year in a row. Some of the factors used to indicate ranking are family structure, parental employment, educational achievements, health and test scores.

Minnesota claims the No.1 spot, with the top five being rounded out by Massachusetts at No. 2, Iowa rolls in at No. 3, New Hampshire at No. 4 and Connecticut at No. 5. On the other end of the spectrum, someone's home state had to take last, and on this list Mississippi holds that title. Coming in at 49 is New Mexico and Louisiana takes 48.
