The Minnesota Basketball News rankings have three defending champions atop their respective classes.

The Northfield Raiders were rated No. 2 heading into Tuesday night's heartbreaking loss to Austin.

The Raiders had to feel like they got thrown into the frying pan with the Spam when junior Packer Oman Oman grabbed a rebound off a missed free throw with three seconds left in the game and heaved it to the other end for the game-winning basket.

That's right. A full court shot.

Northfield was second in Class AAA. Mankato East was fifth and Red Wing eighth.

The Big Nine's Rochester John Marshall was seventh in Class AAAA.

The Hiawatha Valley League has Lake City ranked ninth in Class AA and Goodhue is 10th in Class A.
