High school seniors are in the final stretch of their high school career! As they look forward to college they'll probably think "oh no... this is going to be really expensive." Fear not, high school seniors! Mike Zimmer (the Vikings head coach) is here to help!

The Mike Zimmer Foundation, which was founded in memory of Mike's wife who passed suddenly in 2009, is now accepting applications for their 2019 scholarship. There will be two $10,000 one-time, non-renewable academic scholarships awarded this spring.

Here are the criteria to receive this scholarship:

Must be a senior graduating from a Minnesota high school in 2019.

Must have participated in a varsity sport in high school.

Must have good academic standing with a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Must plan to attend an accredited college, university or community college.

Must have participated in an extracurricular activity or volunteered in the community.

The senior also needs to write an essay that's no more than 500 words that answers three provided questions.

Applications for this scholarship are due April 15th.
