The Merlin Players professional theatre troupe has perfect timing. The World Series opened this week, and so does their play about America's sport: baseball.

This comedy takes place in the bleachers of historic Wrigley Field in Chicago where diehard Cubs fans root for their team during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals in summer 1998.

Bets are won and lost, hearts broken and marriages saved.

The New York Times called it "peppered with fun."

Go opening night and enjoy the hot dog and beer reception with the cast.

The cast includes Alane Bendtsen, Frank Blomgren, Amber Boettcher, Matt Drenth, Tim Fitzgerald, Jackson Hemann, Cody Jensen, Shane Sattler, Steve Searl and Samuel Temple.

Director Julianna Skluzacek stops by KDHL for AM Minnesota today and will probably bring a cast member or two with her at 9:30AM.

Performances are this Friday and Saturday night at 7:30PM and Sunday afternoon at 2PM and next Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30PM at the Paradise Center for the Arts, 321 Central Avenue in Faribault.

Paradise box office hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 5PM and Thursdays from noon to 8PM.

The box office is also open one hour before each performance.
