Memorial Ceremony in Preston

Preston, MN  (KROC AM News) -  The public is invited to Sunday’s memorial ceremony at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston.

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs says the 34th Infantry Division Band, M-Saxteen will begin playing at 1:30 p.m. followed by a program and a Parade of Flags

Goldstar parents David and Kay Swenson will deliver the memorial address. Closing remarks will be made by First District Congressman Tim Walz, who was one of the speakers at the cemetery’s dedication ceremony two years ago.

The department is encouraging visitors to bring lawn chairs and carpool, if possible due to the high number of attendees expected for the event.
