One of the things I enjoy most about being at KDHL is the great people involved in agriculture I have gotten to know. Veronica Brukhoff is on the right and Naomi Mortenson on the left. Veronica works for the Minnesota Soybean Growers and Naomi used to work for the Minnesota Soybean Growers and now for Environmental Tillage Systems in Faribault. I received an email from Veronica asking if I would help them raise money for the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota.

In return for a pledge, these Museum Moms will be running a half or full marathon! The Mankato Marathon is coming up and they though this would be a great way to raise money for their favorite charity. I did not even know there was a Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota in Mankato. I went to their website and soon realized why Veronica and Naomi are involved. The museum has areas that teach children about where their food comes from. They can see soil, plant a seed and see plants growing.

The Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota just celebrated its first anniversary. In the first year they had more than 100,000 visitors! General admission, memberships and other operating revenue only cover about half of the costs of running the museum. So, we have the Museum Moms running in the Mankato Marathon with the goal of raising $4,000 for the museum! If you would like to make a pledge supporting the Museum Moms and the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota, go to Museum Moms Champion Runners on Facebook.
