Corn began the week Monday lower but recovered to close 5-6 cents higher. The forecast continues to call for very high temperature for this week but then moderating by the weekend. Traders view this as "less threatening" but maybe thought the losses late last week were too extreme. Export loadings at 52.3 million bushels were above expectations and another sign of good demand. The corn crop conditions were unchanged at 75 percent good to excellent.

Beans too opened lower but managed to turn around to close 6-10 cents higher. Export Loadings came in at 13.5 million bushels. While that was an OK number, we really have to pick up the pace or a lot of the bean sales on the books will be shifted to new crop. On the charts November beans had an inside day meaning beans traded Monday within Friday's range. The southern half of the Midwest is forecast to be hot and dry next week so we will need to see more rain in the forecast.
