I recently saw on a Facebook page that there was a Lyft driver in Faribault! I did some more digging and found a group that is dedicated to Lyft for Southern Minnesota (Mankato/Faribault/Owatonna/Northfield/Waseca). A lot of towns in Minnesota have been grappling with how to regulate ride sharing programs like Lyft and Uber due to their recent popularity.

On vacation we only use these types of services as we have found out that using and utilizing different ride-sharing options can generally be cheaper than a cab ride to the same location.

Will this seemingly lone ranger in Faribault realize his riches with ride-sharing or will his valiant effort go un-noticed? Time will tell, and these services will only survive if they are used on a regular basis.

Would you consider using a ride-sharing service around town?
