Liberty Spikes

Recently, at the employer of one of my friends, they wanted to contribute to charity, but they also wanted it to be fun for everyone. They devised a plan, where when donations hit a certain goal, members of management had to come in dressed crazy, or do something crazy (ex: eat crickets).

The goal was reached, and my friend's task was to take her long hair and spike it! She purchased the needed supplies, enlisted my help, we looked up the best methods and got started. The goal was to create liberty spikes, but after spending a considerable amount of time and effort, we did not have liberty spikes. Our attempt did not stick straight up, and wouldn't hold it's shape like the tutorials had promised. We suspect that her hair was too long, as all of the pictures we could find showed somewhat shorter hair. She ended up washing it out, and with the help of a bottle, created a single "spike" to work the following day. So I discovered that I could never be a punk rock hairstylist, but, we did have fun giving it a try, and the money went to a good cause!
