It was a arduous road traveled by many, but South Central College finally received the dollars necessary to upgrade their Faribault campus and boy did they get an upgrade.  Leaders were thrilled to show it off during a open house celebration of 50 years in the community.  South Central President Dr. Annette Parker thanked everyone from Legislators to Students and several others also stepped to the podium to weigh in on the big event.  I had a great conversation with former Technical College President Viril Layton.  He told me they tried to get funding for a new campus years ago but could never get any money from the Legislature and said it's not an easy task when you are up against the rest of the state.  Layton said it takes good leadership to pull it off.  Faribault Mayor John Jasinski told Dr. Parker the finished product was, "A job well done."   I know Dr. Parker's predecessor Keith Stover didn't give up after disappointments along the way.  It was once said, "In order to succeed, you must first be willing to fail."
