Lakeville Public School District voters did approve renewing an expiring operating levy with about a 17 percent turnout of registered voters casting ballots.

The vote was 4,623 yes and 1,568 no.

The vote to renew the existing levy of $692.75 per student goes for a ten year period and includes a provision stating the authorization would increase each year by the rate of inflation and be applicable for ten years beginning with taxes payable in 2018.

The New Praque school request was for a $246.70 per pupil increase for six years and passed, 1,685 yes and 1,168 no.

23.9% of registered voters in the New Prague School District voiced their opinions at the ballot box.

In other area School District results:

  • A Triton request for general education revenue bonds totaling $750 per pupil unit was defeated by 24 votes.  479 no to 455 yes.
  • Zumbrota-Mazeppa schools had two questions on the ballot in their district and both were passed.  The first question asked for a renewal of the District's $936.37 per pupil.  The vote was 987 yes and 281 no.  The second question asked for an additional $313.63 per pupil for ten years.  The vote was 842 yes and 419 no.
  • No results reported yet (as of 1:00 a.m.) from the Kenyon-Wanamingo School District where they had two building bond questions on the ballot.  In addition there was a school board seat up for election.
