The Faribault Lakers will face the Luverne Redbirds in the second round of the State Amateur Baseball Tournament in Belle Plaine Sunday night.  The Redbirds bested the Delano Athletics in Jordan Sunday 3-2 while cranking out 13 hits.  The Lakers received a first round bye after winning the Region 3C playoffs and Manager Charlie Lechtenberg says they're excited to be representing the community in the State Tournament since 1990.  Lechtenberg was also happy to have the first round bye to give his ace pitcher Matt Lane an extra week to rest his arm.  The Lakers are riding a 10 game winning streak heading into State Tournament action.  The game will be on POWER 96 radio 95.9FM beginning about 7:15pm Sunday, August 24 from Belle Plaine.
