The Faribault Lakers had their Minister of pitching on the hill and seemingly got a little devine intervention in a 3-0 win over St. Patrick Thursday night in the Region 3C playoffs in Elko.  Jake Stocker led the 3rd inning with a single and was wild pitched to second base.  With one out Adam Kline laid down a bunt and Stocker got a late break for third, but scored when the throw to third went down the left field line.  In the top of the 5th a routine pop fly to left center is dropped when the left and center fielder bump into each other and allow a run to score and then Jack Helgeson hit a bloop single to right field to score Blake Langerud and that would be more than enough for the Lakers to secure the win.  Matt Lane was dealin', fanning 8 and allowing just 4 hits to a very good hitting St. Patrick Irish team.  The victory was Faribault's 10th straight and snapped a 14 game St. Patrick winning streak.  St. Patrick will play Saturday against the winner of the New Market and St. Benedict game which is tomorrow night in Elko.  Faribault plays the winner of the Saturday game noon Sunday at Bell Field and has to be defeated twice or they win the Region and gain a bye in the first round of the State Tournament.
