The Dundas Dukes were ahead 2-0 with one out in the bottom of the first inning against the Faribault Lakers on Wednesday night before the rain and hail hit the field.

In the top of the inning, Nick Johnson lined out to right field, Jack Helgeson grounded out to third and Joe Grote struck out for the Lakers

Lefty Egan Bonde started on the hill for Faribault and, after a strikeout to start the bottom of the first, saw the Dukes collect four straight hits.

Tyler Jones had a single back up the middle to start the hit parade.

Nate Van Roekel smacked his team-leading seventh double of the year to score Jones and Roekel scored on a Carson Jones double.

Veteran Steve Loos hit a full-count single and then the rain and hail came and the game was called with the score 2-0 and one out for Dundas in the bottom of the first.

There was a great crowd on hand and a lot of Faribault fans in attendance at the historic Dundas Memorial Park.

The ballpark underwent some improvements for this season and looks terrific with new stadium seating behind home plate in front of the grandstand.

The Faribault Lakers are scheduled to host Lonsdale at 7:30PM Thursday and the Dundas Dukes play the Randolph Railcats in Dundas at 6PM Saturday.
