Kasson-Mantorville senior Kristin Scott needed just 20 points to break the school's all-time record going into Thursday night's game at home against the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars.

Scott did not disappoint with 25 points and 18 rebounds in a 63-48 win.

The future Iowa State Cyclone has 1,775 points and broke the previous record of 1,771 held by Jaime Bell.

Her record is the most points by any student, boy or girl at Kasson-Mantorville and was set at the free throw line which is not a surprise because she is a very good free throw shooter.

Komet Head Coach Ryan Haraldson says he's not surprised by the accomplishment.

That was not the only excitement around the Hiawatha Valley League Thursday night.

The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights celebrated the unveiling of their Class A 2016 State Championship banner by shutting out BOTH Lake Crystal-Welcome-Memorial and Lake City in a triangular at the Castle.

Head Kenyon-Wanamingo wrestling coach Matt Ryan also picked up his 300th career coaching victory.
