The Kenyon -Wanamingo Knights trailed during most of the first set Thursday umbrota-Mazeppa in the Castle in Kenyon but rolled in a sweep.

Scores were 25-20, 25-14, 25-12.

I counted 9 errors by the Knights and didn't include blocking errors in the first set but they still managed a comeback win.

5'9 sophomore Ally Peterson began imposing her will on the Cougars in the second set while collecting eight kills and finished with 17 on the night.

My unofficial statistics also had 5'10 senior Corynne Dahl with 9 kills and her timing on the blocks is so good it really helps the Kenyon-Wanamingo defense.

Senior libero Sydney Way finished the night with 11 digs and made a number of perfect passes to setters Maddie McCauley and Madi Luebke which made their night easier in terms of keeping the Knights offense in system.

Kenyon-Wanamingo is now 8-5 and heads to the Class 2A Volleyball Showcase Tournament at the Volleyball Warehouse in Burnsville Friday and Saturday.

The Knights will be in Goodhue Tuesday night and I'll have the match on KDHL beginning approximately 7:00 p.m. if everything is on time.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa falls to 3-5 and will be at Medford Monday and host Goodhue Thursday.

The match was over in just under an hour.
