A 30 year old Kenyon man fell through the ice on Shields Lake Saturday afternoon.  The Rice County Sheriff's office reported they were dispatched to the lake along with Lonsdale Fire and Rescue and North Ambulance.  Pete Lemke was taken to an area hospital and then transported to a metro area hospital and treated.  He was released.  Last week Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn repeated warnings to be careful on area lakes due to inconsistent ice.  Lemke agreed to share his story so others might not suffer the same fate or worse.  KDHL News Director Gordy Kosfeld visited with him via telephone.  You can listen during our 7:05am, 8:05am News Reports.  The Kenyon Area News, Midday Report during the Noon hour and the 5:05pm and 6:05pm News.
