Kenny Chesney woke up to the news every artist dreams about: a Grammy nomination. Chesney's collaboration with Pink, "Setting the World on Fire," has been nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

"You’re kidding me," Chesney said upon learning of his Grammy nod. "That’s fantastic. What a thing, what news to wake up to."

The island-lover was reached at sea and told of the good news, which made him nostalgic about first hearing his now Grammy-nominated song.

“When I heard the song, I knew it was pretty special,” Chesney adds. “But when we got Pink on there, it was something else. She captures all the emotion, all the joy of being alive, being free and in the moment – and brought everything inside the song to life. I couldn’t be happier this morning, knowing the people who vote for the Grammys heard in that song all the things that I do.”

“Setting the World on Fire” was recorded in Los Angeles and written by Josh Osborne, Ross Copperman and Matt Jenkins. The track itself was inspired by one of the co-writer's own first trip to the Grammys. The song was the second single from Chesney’s Cosmic Hallelujah album and a two-week No. 1. It also marks Chesney's 29th career No. 1.

“I knew the moment I heard this song, it was exactly the moment of life and love exploding, and everything turning Technicolor,” Chesney said when he released it to radio. “Finding songs that are in the moment are harder, in this kind of moment, it’s almost impossible. And the idea of bringing Pink in adds to that sense of this song is happening as we sing it. It’s funny how people respond to stuff that feels real and right now.”
