Nashville will be ringing in 2017 with Keith Urban. The country superstar will headline the Jack Daniel's Music City Midnight: New Years Eve in Nashville event.

The Nashville Convention & Visitor Corp. announced on Thursday (Oct. 6) that Urban is at the top of a diverse lineup for the New Year's Eve in Nashville party. Joining him for the event will be classic rock band Styx, indie-alternative group Moon Taxi, country acts A Thousand Horses and Charlie Worsham and Nashville's own Fisk Jubilee Singers.

"The diversity of this hometown lineup underscores why we are Music City," says chairman Beth Seigenthaler in an official press release. "From big stars to rising stars and from country to rock to indie, this A-list is only possible in Nashville. These acts attract incredible fans with explosive energy for a dynamic event."

Urban will have plenty to celebrate as 2016 comes to a close, too. This year, he set records with his new studio album Ripcord and its subsequent tour; was honored with a special award at the ACM Honors; and earned five consecutive No. 1 singles (so far). The former American Idol judge is also nominated for four CMA Awards, which will be handed out on Nov. 2.

"What could be better than New Year’s Eve in downtown Nashville?" Urban says in the press release. "It’s an awesome way to ring in 2017, and I can’t wait for the party!"

The free Jack Daniel's Music City Midnight: New Years Eve in Nashville event is open to the public and will be hosted for the first time at Nashville's Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, to accommodate growth and improved security. The party is set to begin at 6:15PM on Dec. 31, leading up to Urban's headlining performance right before midnight.
