Just two days and two clues into the annual KDHL Medallion hunt, the medallion has been found and the prize has been claimed!

The KDHL medallion, handcrafted by Chappuis Jewelers, was found by Lindsey Nusbaum and her family. This is the first time that the Nusbaum family has searched for the medallion, and their interest was spurred after a friend mentioned the annual hunt. Lindsey heard the first clue on Wednesday, but waited to venture out and instead opted to do a little bit of research on Faribault history to prepare herself for the coming clues. Lindsay is a teacher at Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf, and said that she enjoys learning about things and researching.  After hearing the second clue on Thursday morning, Lindsay said she and her family went to Alexander Park, and then Slevin Park, which she said her research revealed to be the site of Alexander Faribault's first camp. They spent about three hours searching, including a visit to the Rice County Historical Society before having to cut their search short for an appointment. Following the appointment, the family decided to check Alexander Faribault's home, and there found the medallion. Lindsay said that the Nusbaum family plans to join in next year's fun and once again search for the KDHL Medallion.

Lindsey was wearing a Heritage Days button and was able to claim the prize package, which included dinner and show for four at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, a pair of Minnesota Twins tickets, a day for four at Canterbury Park, a four-pack of tickets to Mall of America Amusements and $150 cash.
