Katie and Ted Brenny from Goodhue County finished in the top ten in the Excellence in Agriculture contest at the American Farm Bureau Federation's 100th Annual Meeting in New Orleans. The Brenny's earned the honor of competing at the National level by receiving top honors at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation's Young Farmer and Rancher Excellence in Agriculture Contest last November.

The contest is designed as an opportunity for young farmers and ranchers who may not farm 100 percent of the time to earn recognition while contributing to agriculture and building their leadership skills through their involvement in Farm Bureau. Ted and Katie farm near Mazeppa and are fifty generation farmers raising beef cattle. Ted works for the farm credit system and Katie works for an agriculture business company in the digital technology space.

"We are grateful and humbled to finish in the top 10. We appreciate the efforts of Farm Bureau to provide a voice for American agriculture" said the Brennys. "Young Farmer and Rancher opportunities have contributed to our professional and personal success, and we would strongly encourage others to get involved. Thank you to the sponsors of our programs and their investment in young farmers." Congratulations Katie and Ted!
