‘Jurassic Park 4′ to be Scored by Michael Giacchino
Picking up the baton from John Williams (and Don Davis), fan favorite Michael Giacchino will score ‘Jurassic World.’ Best known for his work on Pixar films and J.J. Abrams‘ movies and shows, he’s clearly on his way to becoming the new Williams, so his hiring makes sense.
Deadline broke the news that Giacchino will be the composer, which makes a strange sort of sense as Williams (who famously composed the ‘Jurassic Park’ theme) is currently signed up to score ‘Star Wars: Episode 7,’ so — as Giacchino usually does the music for J.J. Abrams films — it’s like they’re trading jobs or something. Giacchino recently won an Oscar for his score for ‘Up,’ and will be providing the music for this summer’s upcoming ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes‘ and ‘Jupiter Ascending.’
‘Jurassic World,’ which is currently filming, is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, and stars ‘Parks and Recreation”s Chris Pratt (who could have a big summer with his leading role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘), Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer, Jake Johnson and Vincent D’Onofrio and hopefully a whole bunch of dinosaurs. ‘Jurassic World’ is scheduled to hit theaters June 12, 2015, and hopefully Giacchino does better work than this:
