My reaction was that at least 50 people were out having a good time and their lives were suddenly over. Not 50 gay, lesbian, bi, transgender lives. Just that all those lives were over.

Why are we having all those attacks against these people? Their sexual orientation does not matter. They are still people. Many friends are members of the LGBT community. I have one child who is. But again. I don't look at them this way. They are people.

You just wonder now. Are there others waiting to strike? There was a pride event in Golden Valley this past weekend. The Minneapolis event is not that far away and already they are talking security changes.

I guess I am like so many, that wish we could live as in the past. Our doors were always open, you knew the people on your block and you helped each other. Nothing else mattered.
