Jivin Ivin in Faribault’s Central Park on Thursday

Another great FREE concert in Central Park in Faribault is coming up on Thursday night, Aug. 13, as Jivin Ivin and the Kings of Swing will perform. The concert is cosponsored by Faribault Parks and Recreation and Slinger Electric.

Jivin' Ivan Whillock is a believer in showcasing the classic tunes of the American Songbook. Whillock plays guitar and sings and is joined by Dallas Musselman in featuring standard hits from the '30s to the '50s. Whillock's son Mark is the group's drummer and Paul Ousley plays the bass and rounds out the group. And Mike Hildebrandt plays the violin and tenor guitar and Doug Madow handles the keyboard.

The concert starts at 7PM. If there is severe lightning the event will be canceled, otherwise the concert will go on rain or shine.

En Plein View artists will be working in the park and the Girl Scouts will be selling goodies.
