Jazz Rendition of Livin’ On A Prayer

When I come across something as unique as a group of jazz musicians performing the 1986 chart-topping hit, "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi, I know I have to share it with you!

The group performing this Bon Jovi cover is labeled as being the Riot Jazz Brass Band, and it looks like this video was uploaded to YouTube about a year ago. I would have never expected to hear this song arranged for a jazz group, but I think they knocked it out of the park!

I was never in the jazz band (practice was held in the early mornings, when I prefer to be soundly asleep), but I was a member of my high school's performing band, marching band and pep band. I had a great time and made so many memories. We played some really fun music, and each year put on a Pops Concert featuring more familiar music, often theme songs to various movies, including Indiana Jones, but the only time we got to crank out the classic rock tunes was for pep band. I haven't played in years, but I think it would be a blast to get to play Bon Jovi!
