Last night Northfield hosted another very successful Winter Walk. I wasn't able to make it over there but our very own Lisa Dwyer was there and here's her take on the evening:

A chilly winter breeze, light snowfall creating a dusting of ground cover, the clomping of horse hooves on the streets, children laughing, lighted luminaries along the streets,  the smell of hot chocolate, baked goods and bonfires and of course Christmas caroling... Winter Walk, last night in downtown Northfield was a Winter Wonderland of Fun!

Hundreds of people filled Division Street in Northfield last night for the 18th annual Winter Walk. All of the shops that lined the street were filled with shoppers and families enjoying the activities of the evening. Many of the businesses had tables set up outside their business with coffee, hot chocolate or other treats and samples.

Several blocks of Division were blocked off to traffic, which allowed for families to freely enjoy all that the downtown had to offer, along with horse-drawn wagon rides to complete the experience. Families gathered on the south end for a petting zoo, pictures with Olaf, Frosty, Rudolph and more near Bridge Square and several bonfires along the streets near local businesses.

Along with groups of carolers on the streets, you could also find indoor entertainment in several shops, including a trio of trombones playing Christmas music to visitors having a  treat in Quality Bakery.

If you missed it this year, it’s a must-do to put on your calendar for 2017!
