I can't think of anybody who loses with the opening of the new Star Wars movie other than any other movies competing with it at the box office. Let's look at this.

It's already been in the media that the movie has made more than $50 million in ticket presales. It's predicted to be the biggest opening ever.

Theaters are going to be open crazy hours to accommodate ticket buyers. More money for employees, more revenue from concessions. Some theaters are even showing the six previous films before they show the new one.

Disney has got to be going ka-ching because even though they paid George Lucas $4 billion dollars for the rights, predictions are they might make half of that back on this movie alone.

The merchandising has been incredible. Most of the ads I watched over this past weekend had some Star Wars tie-in.

For those who are waiting in line or camped out, I salute you and may the force be with you. I am waiting until after Christmas to go, but go must I, and see it I will.
