On Wednesday I headed up to the Minnesota State Fair. When I go up to help with the 4-H Swine show, I park on the fair grounds. I have to be in the swine show barn by 8AM. The Park and Ride bus does not start running until 8. When possible, I park in the lot just east of the Mall of America and take the bus to the fairgrounds. It only costs $5 and you don't have to fight the traffic. Yesterday I left the fairgrounds about 4:30 and it took one hour to get back to the Mall of America parking lot. At least I did not have to drive in the traffic!

My favorite State Fair food is the turkey sandwich from the Turkey to Go restaurant and a strawberry sundae from the dairy bar. While I am in the Dairy Building, I check out the Princess Kay of the Milky Way butter sculptures. It was great to see Samantha Keller from Goodhue County in the cooler. You can see she is dressed for winter because she will be in the cooler for about eight hours. In the other picture is the finished butter sculpture of Maggie Mills. Maggie is also from Goodhue County and is one of the 12 finalists for Princess Kay of the Milky Way.
