I have been a Twins fan for as long as I can remember! I've been going to Twins Fest with my dad since I was 6 and it was always a tradition to go to at least one Twins game a year as a family.

At one Twins Fest, I got to meet Joe Mauer! I remember being so nervous! It was his first year with the Twins but my dad said that Mauer was expected to do really well so he wanted to get his autograph before he got too popular. And boy did my dad predict that right!

My dad and I purchased two baseballs for him to sign and we stood in line for quite a while to meet this new Twins player!

I still have that signed baseball displayed in my living room! I don't think he had a very good pen to sign with, though, because the ink is starting to bleed. Or maybe I didn't store it correctly. It's probably a combination of both.

To make a long story short, it's pretty cool to have a signed baseball from someone who, as of last night, now has 2,000 career hits! What an awesome honor for such a great guy!

Now he just needs to promise us he won't retire soon.

P.S. Sorry I didn't get a picture with him... not sure what my 8-year-old self was thinking.
