Each winter in downtown Faribault, the street corners are decorated, the lights are strung and beautiful displays are created in the shop windows! It's a beautiful time of year, and this year is no exception! Last night was the Window Decorating contest, and it took place in conjunction with the Buckham Library's festivities as well. There were children's game, live reindeer and Santa rode in on a fire truck! In addition to that, people strolling downtown and casting their vote for best Window Decorating were treated with live music in three locations! The library, the Paradise Center for the Arts and the Bachrach Building all welcomed people in to warm up and listen to holiday music. Shops were open late, and the Paradise Center for the Arts even had an ice bar set up featuring beautiful ice luminaries! It was a great evening in downtown Faribault!

But, the holiday fun doesn't stop there! This Saturday, Santa will once again be downtown listening to Christmas wish lists and taking pictures at the Village Family Theater from 2-4pm. He will be joined by a local band and choir adding to the holiday spirit.

On December 13th, bring your friends to Faribault and take a spin on a horse drawn sleigh! Santa will be riding along from 2-4pm as well, so you'll have a chance to let him know if you've been naughty or nice! You'll also see carolers strolling up and down the streets, and might even be inspired to sing a holiday tune with them!

On December 20th, you have one final chance to have your picture taken with Santa and tell him what you hope to find in your stocking, because Santa will be at the Paradise Center for the Arts along with a live band and choir from 2-4pm!

In addition to this, the Community Band has a holiday concert on Tues. Dec 9th at 7pm, the Santa Diaries are at the Paradise Center for the Arts through Dec 14th, and Rock the Tree Top is Dec 19th. Plus, all of the shops and restaurants are sure to have fun displays and great products to showcase! Don't miss out on all the fun at Hometown Holidays in Downtown Faribault!
