Marissa Babcock of Weichert Realtors will stop by the KDHL Studio today to discuss real estate issues on AM Minnesota at 9:30AM.

Is each housing market unique or are all markets essentially the same? It's a question I've always wanted to ask a Realtor and we will see what Marissa thinks. I don't know if there is a definitive yes or no to that question.

I know in our visits with Pete Mergens of Professional Pride Realty in Northfield during our bi-montly shows, he talks about how low inventory is there. Does the same situation exist in Faribault?

There we go with the question of whether markets are similar or unique.

I am not the norm when it comes to home purchases, and my siblings have not been either. I dare say these days there are not too many families where the kids move away from home and buy just one house in their life, but that's what has happened in my family.

I purchased my home in Faribault in October 1991. It's paid for, but I am still paying on an addition to the house in 2009 that I used a home equity loan to accomplish.

I remember calling Marissa's high school volleyball matches for Faribault Bethlehem Academy. She was a very good middle hitter for the Cardinals and always had a smile on her face.

I look forward to our visit today about real estate in the Faribault area.
