Highway 494 Has The Meat Monday Morning

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a semi carrying thousands of pounds of meat hit a freeway median during rush hour and spilled the load on the road.

The accident occurred on I-494 near Prairie Center Drive, which snarled traffic in the area and forced the Minnesota Department of Transportation to close the left lanes on both the eastbound and westbound side of the freeway. The State Patrol said the driver had a medical emergency and blacked out. The force of the impact sheared off the side of the trailer and it spilled its load. The driver was apparently not injured.
