Not sure what will happen because of the weather, but the repaving of Highway 3 in Northfield is scheduled to start Tuesday. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, traffic will be single lane on the north end of the city.

Motorists can expect short delays on the 1.3 mile stretch from Minnesota Highway 19 to Highway 3. The construction is a part of a larger project on Minnesota highways 298 and 299 in Faribault, which will cost an estimated at $1.1 million.

MnDOT encourages drivers to be more attentive during construction, which should be completed by June 23. And remember that fines double in work zones.

Road construction sign.
