Quentin Tarantino just officially confirmed this past weekend at Comic-Con that he would, in fact, be filming 'The Hateful Eight' in early 2015. Here we are, just a few days later, and we already have the first 'Hateful Eight' poster, confirming that the project will be shot in "Super CinemaScope."

First revealed in the pages of Empire Magazine, the 'Hateful Eight' teaser poster doesn't give much away other than a confirmed 2015 release date (likely, just in time for Christmas), and the aforementioned "Super CinemaScope," which is just a fancy way of saying that Tarantino will be shooting the movie in 70mm.

As the opening to the original 'Hateful Eight' script said:

A breathtaking 70MM filmed (as is the whole movie) snow-covered mountain range. … Then in the bottom left of this big 70MM SUPER CINEMASCOPE FRAME, we see a STAGECOACH being pulled by a team of SIX HORSES rip snorting through the bottom of the landscape.

The last three movies shot in traditional 70mm were the nature documentary ‘Samsara’, Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Hamlet’ and Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘The Master,’ the latter of which may have inspired Tarantino’s vision. Anderson’s last film helped lead a few theaters nationwide to convert to 70mm, which would’ve allowed the ‘Hateful Eight’ to be viewed in its desired format.

Tarantino has been hard at work revising the 'Hateful Eight' script, which notoriously leaked online earlier this year, causing him to, at one point, completely abandon the project. Perhaps spurred on by a charity live-read in Los Angeles, Tarantino has again committed to the project, bringing most of the actors from that live-read with him, including Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Walton Goggins and more.

If you never got a chance to read the leaked script, the 'Hateful Eight' plot is as follows:

A bounty hunter and his prisoner traveling by stagecoach to a town called Red Rock get stuck in a blizzard and meet other travelers along the way that need a lift. Sidetracked by the blizzard, they stop at a nearby haberdashery to take shelter until the storm passes. While holed up in this haberdashery waiting out the blizzard, coincidences stop looking like coincidences, enemies become allies, secrets escape, and lots of living things get dead.
