Previously, I have shared with you the joy that is National Margarita Day. Clearly that is a "holiday" I can get behind. Well, time to add another date to your list of favorite holidays! But on this holiday, there will be no fireworks, no resolutions to be made, no stockings filled with goodies, and no bunnies hopping around. This isn't a traditional holiday, it's not even a real holiday, but today, May 25, is National Wine Day!

What does one need to celebrate National Wine Day? Simply yourself, provided you are at least 21. Depending on what type of wine you choose, you may or may not need a corkscrew to open it, and a wine glass certainly helps, but in a pinch, any glass will do. There is no decorating to be done, no gifts to be wrapped, the biggest decision you'll have to make is which variety you prefer to celebrate with. Might it be a merlot, a pinot grigio, a cabernet sauvignon, or maybe a moscoto. So many choices!

If you prefer to celebrate with a bottle from a local winery, the Land of 10,000 lakes has no shortage of wines to choose from. Click here to see a list of Minnesota wineries. I plan to round up a couple of friends, a bottle of wine from one of my favorite local wineries and make the most of the holiday tonight! Cheers!
