Singer-songwriter Kelly Fauth is kicking off July with a special performance of her song "Ain't in It for Love," as part of The Boot's Guest Room Sessions. Readers can press play above to watch.

Fauth's Guest Room Sessions performance was filmed on location in East Nashville. It also finds Fauth being accompanied by her friend and guitarist, Mike Robinson, who helped create this version of the song's stripped-down vibe.

"I found this amazing spot in East Nashville through a friend that had all these badass, old-school amps," Fauth tells The Boot, "and knew I had to film something there."

Written by Fauth and Nashville songwriters Charlie Chamberlain and Chris Benelli, "Ain't in It for Love" is, the artist says, one of her favorite self-penned tunes. "It’s basically a song about a dude who is super whipped by his significant other," she explains. "It’s kind of a plea to him to just GET OUT!"

The California-born Fauth cut her teeth as a backup singer for rock bands such as Coheed and Cambria, with whom she performed in giant venues including Madison Square Garden. One of her biggest personal achievements, though, is opening for the famous 1990s trio Hanson with her former band, Sparrow. Fans can stream Fauth's latest release, titled Off to the Races, on Spotify.
