Today I went down to Stewartville High School to help with the FFA Regional Career Development Event or CDE. Again this year I was asked to be one of the judges for the FFA Regional Creed Contest. The Creed Contest is for first-year FFA members or Greenhands. Each contestant stands before the judges and recites the FFA Creed and then answers a couple of questions about the creed. There is not a right or wrong answer to a question about the FFA Creed like "what are the reasons you believe in the future of agriculture? "

Normally this event is held at the Stewartville High School because it is centrally located in the region and it is a staff workshop day. That means the school is open but no students so it works out well. In addition to the Creed Contest there were State FFA Degree interviews, Proficiency award interviews, the BIG contest or Best Informed Greenhand contest and likely others I am not aware of. The lunch room was open for FFA members to try and relax in before going to their events. The FFA members in the library are waiting for their turn to compete in the Creed Contest.  It was nice to spend the morning helping out the FFA!
