This morning when I got to the studio at 4 a.m., corn was up 2 to 3 cents and beans were up 6 to 7 cents. I thought that wasn't bad on top of the gains last Friday. Remember, the grain markets were closed Monday for Presidents Day.

When the day session opened at 8:30, corn and beans popped higher and than corn began to back down. By the close, corn was up 2 to 3 cents and beans had a lot of strength, closing up 15 to 17 cents. Export loadings were good for corn at with 724,900 MT. The NOPA Crush was reported at 162.675 million bushels. That is the fourth-highest monthly total on record!

Remember that the USDA Outlook Forum began today. We will see those numbers Thursday and Friday. In past years those have been very bearish, so be prepared.
