Goodhue Wildcats first year Head Coach Matt Halverson played and then coached for Rushford-Peterson Head Coach Tom Vix and now he gets to match wits with him.  The Wildcats and Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals both played tenacious defense Saturday and Goodhue just had a little more diversity on offense to prevail 48-41.  The difference proved to be the free throw line where Goodhue was 13 of 20 and BA 5 of 11.  6'3 BA Senior Kyle Novak tried to hoist the team on his back offensively with 23 points, but Goodhue had three players reach double figures to secure the victory.  Tyler Schumacher had 17 points, Riley Bollum 12 and Riley Augustine 11.  The Cardinals girls season was also ended by Goodhue in Subsection play.  BA finished the season 15-14 and the 19-10 Wildcats will play Rushford-Peterson at 6 Thursday night at the Mayo Civic Center to see who represents the Section at the State Tournament.  The Trojans breezed in their championship game with Spring Grove 83-65.
