George Strait knows how to deliver a great performance, even if he's not singing one of his own songs. The King of Country gave a fiery rendition of "Great Balls of Fire" during Skyville Live's Jerry Lee Lewis tribute on Aug. 24, bringing to life the lively spirit of the song.

The country legend exhibits his signature twang on the upbeat number, clearly having a ball as he rocks out on guitar. Strait sounds as good as ever as he sings the classic lyrics — "Hold me baby, well I want to love you like a lover should / You're fine, so kind / I want to tell the world that you're mine, mine, mine, mine" — against a fierce piano, beaming all the while.

Is Strait's Music the Best of the '90s?

The "Amarillo by Morning" hitmaker was just one of the major acts tapped to partake in the tribute for the legendary Lewis. Kris Kristofferson, Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack and Toby Keith also took the stage, performing some Lewis' other hits like "Mean Old Man," "I'll Follow Him" and "Middle Age Crazy." "Great Balls of Fire" was a huge success for Lewis after its 1957 release, propelling him to the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and UK Singles Chart, in addition to reaching No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

Lewis is a legend in the world of music and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy in 2005. His other biggest hits include "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Crazy Arms" and "Another Place, Another Time."
