Garth Brooks treated unsuspecting music fans to a very special show on Monday night (Oct. 3) at Nashville's famed the Bluebird Cafe. Joining the stage with songwriters Pat Alger, Tony Arata, Kent Blazy and Victoria Shaw, Brooks performed his 1989 hit "If Tomorrow Never Comes" with Blazy, who co-wrote the song with the country superstar.

Brooks sang his first No. 1 hit with Blazy accompanying on acoustic guitar and harmonies. The stripped-down track had the entire listening room quiet as they watched intently.

Later, he played another one of his concert staples, "The Dance." Written by Arata, Brooks joined in with his songwriter friend on the song for another mesmerizing performance.

A performance at the Bluebird for Brooks is always special, as it was the room he was discovered in and eventually garnered his first record deal from. Monday proved to be a very special day for the singer, as he announced a free concert to celebrate his record-breaking seven diamond albums. That show will take place on Oct. 24 at Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater.

“I can’t thank Tennessee enough for taking me in as if I was one of their own and allowing me to chase a dream,” Brooks says. “I couldn’t be more proud to bring this back to the home of country music.”

Brooks tells Taste of Country it will be a show like no other. He’ll play seven songs acoustic, one from each of the seven diamond albums. Meanwhile, his wife, Trisha Yearwood, will likely join him on the outdoor stage.
