Garth Brooks will soon have another trophy to add to his extensive collection. The singer will be one of the recipients of the ASCAP Centennial Awards, handed out at a special ceremony to be held on Nov. 17 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Brooks joins an elite list of artists who will receive the prestigious honor this year, including Joan Baez, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and Stephen Sondheim.

“Each of our ASCAP Centennial Award recipients is in a class of his or her own, as the creator and performer of songs that have touched the lives of people across the globe,” ASCAP President Paul Williams says. “It’s wonderful to be able to salute them on the occasion of ASCAP’s Centennial.”

The event will coincide with a gala party celebrating the 100th anniversary of ASCAP. In addition to appearances by the recipients, several guest artists will also be on hand to pay a musical tribute to the honorees. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.

The ceremony also marks the first time ASCAP is hosting a fundraising benefit for the ASCAP Foundation and its music education, talent development and humanitarian activities. More information on their charitable endeavors can be found here.

The ASCAP Centennial Awards coincide with what could be one of the biggest years of Brooks’ career. The Oklahoma native will kick off his World Tour on Sept. 4 in Chicago, Ill., and is expected to stay on the road for up to three years. The hitmaker is only announcing one date at a time, but so far, he has confirmed multiple shows in Chicago and Atlanta. See a complete list of dates here.
