Former Minnesota Viking quarterback, Brett Favre, reportedly auditioned for a job to be one of the analysts on Monday Night Football and it didn’t go so well.

Andrew Marchand, of the New York Post, states that “sources said he was not great during the tryout and has been told he is no longer under consideration. Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, did not return a call. ESPN declined to comment.”

Alex Putterman, of Awful Announcing, a radio/TV website, says that he’s not surprised that Favre didn’t do well. “He was never quite as polished or well-spoken in front of the camera as [Peyton] Manning was.” Manning was offered an aggressive and generous offer to get him to join Monday Night Football but Manning rejected it.

Favre took to Twitter and claims that he doesn’t want to pursue a broadcasting career right now.

Whoever ends up getting this analyst position will be replacing Jon Gruden, who left Monday Night football over three months ago to accept a position as head coach for the Oakland Raiders.
